MAY IS ART MONTH at CAPILANO MALL

Once again we’ve partnered with the arts community to bring you all genres of the arts including music, dance, theatre, fashion and visual arts.

Visual Art Display

Friday May 9 – Sunday May 18
The North Vancouver Community Arts Council is back again with their visual art display that will exhibit the works of local artists. There will be a variety of paintings, photographs, carvings and more. The visual art display will be located under the skylight area between Sterling Shoes and Smart Set.

Fresh Fashion Show

Friday May 16 at 6pm in the Grand Court
Designer Fashion ShowBecome inspired this spring and indulge yourself with the season’s freshest ingredients for style, featuring one of a kind wearable fashions! Join us for fRESH 2008, an evening of Fashion and Art. The event includes a live a musical performance, followed by the fRESH Fashion Show. It all takes place Friday, May 18th at 6pm in Grand Court.

Join us underneath the Totems in Grand Court for live music and dance performances coordinated through the North Vancouver Community Arts Council.

School Dist. 44 Student Art Display

Student art display
The North Vancouver School District is back again with their annual student art exhibit. The exhibit features works of art by some of the North Shore’s most talented young artists. The display will fill the Grand Court and continue under the skylight area from Suzy Shier to Smart Set.

Join students visiting from Japan as they demonstrate and teach various Japanese arts and customs include Japanese Songs & Games, Martial Arts, Informal Tea Ceremony, Calligraphy, Black & White painting, Japanese theatre, Japanese folk tales, Japanese dance and Taiko Drums
