Jelly Belly Contest Results
HOW WELL CAN YOU COUNT THE JELLY BELLY BEANS?
Well, the winner, Meghan Fung was only off by 9 beans. Meghan
hopped away with the grand prize: 2 kilograms of Jelly Belly
beans, a vintage candy machine and a 4 ½ foot bunny. Just in
case you were wondering, there were 12,529 Jelly Belly beans.
The following individuals won the secondary prize - Easter jar
filled with Jelly Belly beans: Ben Nizio, Cloe Harris, Joshua
Flecter, Carson Hamer, Garrett Audet, Richard Baker, Nadine
Rogers, Neusha Kaviani, Janice Balfour, Zahra Janmohamed,
Allyson Tonks, Bryce, Brian Frazen, Jane Tom, Matthew Williams
and Deana.
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to the 1,180
participants.
Growing Up Green

The event features the live theatre group, Green Kids, who
will perform for kids K - Grade 7. Educating kids on "Climate
Change" and inspiring them to take positive action towards
protecting the environment.

April 26th activities: Face painting available from 11am until
5pm and Recycling DVD throughout the day
Participating children will receive a package of magic beans,
while supplies last.
Starting April 1st is a chance to win a Family Zip Trek
Adventure Weekend at Whistler. Fill out an entry form at

Let’s try to keep as many batteries as possible out of the
landfill.
There are two ways you can contribute;
North Shore Secondary School Battery Challenge - starting April
7th until the 24th, the following North Shore Secondary Schools
will be participating in a battery challenge:
Argyle Secondary, Balmoral Jr. Secondary, Bodwell High School,
Collingwood School, Keith Lynn Alternative School, Handsworth
Secondary, St. Thomas Aquinas, Seycove Secondary, and Sutherland
Secondary .
Capilano Mall Battery Drive - for your convenience, there is a
battery recycling container located in Grand Court near the
escalators.
Acceptable batteries: alkaline or lithium batteries - 9-volt,
AA, AAA, C, D, rechargeable, camcorder, digital camera, watch or
cordless and cellular phone batteries. Car or corroded batteries
are not permitted.
Resource Fair - Salute to Earth Week
April 17th to the 26th 2008The mall will also be hosting an environmental resource fair
with100 % of the proceeds generated
from this show will go to support Green Kids Inc. and their
mission “To educate children and teachers on environmental
issues and to inspire them to take positive action towards
protecting our environment”.

Fundraisers:
Donate a dollar and receive a seeded pledge card to plant in our
community garden.
The profits from the pop cans and bottles collected during the
month of April in the mall will go directly to Green Kids Inc.

Kub Kar Rally Finals
Sunday, April 27
Join the Scouts as they find out who has the fastest handmade
kub kar in the region. Registration is at 10:00 and racing
begins at noon.
